Emergency cart also called as code cart or crash cart is a set of drawers/shelves/trays on wheels which is used in hospitals for transportation and dispensing of emergency equipment/medication at site of surgical or medical emergency for life support protocols to save a person’s life. The contents of the emergency cart contain the tools and drugs needed to treat a person in or near cardiac arrest. These include monitor, defibrillators, suction devices, advanced cardiac life support drugs, drugs for rapid intubation, drugs for peripheral and central venous access, pediatric equipment.
